New adviser for agency
Stevenson adds European focus to Indigo
A former Conservative MEP for 15 years, Mr Stevenson (pictured) served in the European Parliament for Scotland between 1999 and 2014.
He will focus on supporting Leith-based Indigo’s public affairs team to provide advice and insight on the choices facing Scotland with regard to Brexit, as well as intelligence on the key personalities at the EU Commission, Parliament and Council.
His appointment strengthens the 12-strong team at Indigo. Elaine McKean, managing director, said: “We are thrilled that Struan has joined our team.
“As negotiations around the UK’s exit from the EU gear up, more and more clients are looking for an added level of intelligence and insight in order to prepare their organisation for the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead.
“Few people in Scotland can match the breadth and depth of Struan’s experience operating in Brussels and we very much look forward to working with him.”
Mr Stevenson was a member and later vice-chairman of the European People’s Party and European Democrats (EPP-ED) group, before becoming a member of the European Conservatives & Reformists Group (ECR) from 2009.
He said: “Undoubtedly the next few years will bring many challenges and opportunities for organisations in Scotland and now, more than ever, Scottish business and the third sector need to be heavily engaged in the debate about our future relationship with our European neighbours.
“I look forward to working with the Indigo team to advise and support their clients through what is likely to be a long and tough Brexit negotiation process and help them meet the challenges it poses head on.”
