Standard Life extends Ryder Cup deal

nuala-walsh-ryder-cupStandard Life Investments has extended its sponsorship of The Ryder Cup to include the 2018 tournament to be played in Paris.

Nuala Walsh (above), global head of marketing & client relations at the company confirmed the decision following the conclusion of this year’s event in Minnesota.

After losing to the US in last weekend’s battle Europe will attempt to regain the trophy at Le Golf National when it the teams regroup between September 28-30 2018.

Ms Walsh said: “The Ryder Cup continues to reflect and complement our commitment to fostering team spirit in order to deliver performance excellence. 

“Following the 2016 contest at Hazeltine National in Minnesota, and our close partnership with the European Tour, we are thrilled to announce an extended commercial agreement for The 2018 Ryder Cup.”

Keith Pelley, chief executive of The European Tour, the managing partner of Ryder Cup Europe, welcomed the extended partnership.

He said: “The Ryder Cup is one of the most prestigious events in sport and Standard Life Investments both share and exemplify our values of integrity and the pursuit of potential.

“We are delighted that they have chosen to extend their partnership with The Ryder Cup and we look forward to working together to deliver another world-class contest in Paris in 2018.”

Standard Life Investments became the first Worldwide Partner of The Ryder Cup in February 2013.
