New CEO at savings firm
Change of chief executive at Scottish Friendly
Fiona McBain is stepping down as chief executive of Scottish Friendly and will be succeeded by her deputy Jim Galbraith.
After a spell as finance director, Ms McBain (pictured) took the helm in January 2006 when the group had £530 million in assets and sales of £5.5m.
Under her leadership, assets have grown to £2.5 billion and new business sales have reached £29m. Membership has increased by more than 100,000 to nearly 500,000.
Mr Galbraith said: “Fiona has been at the helm of Scottish Friendly through one of the most difficult periods in the history of the financial services industry.”
