New agency for Glasgow
Agents unite to create Walker Wylie
A property duo with more than 20 years’ combined experience have launched what they claim is Glasgow’s first hybrid estate agency.
Barry Walker and Stuart Wyle, former area directors for Clyde Property, have created Walker Wylie.
Mr Walker said: “It was our goal to create a business model that combined the benefits of traditional estate agency service with online convenience.”
Commenting on the state of the industry, Mr Wylie said: “The current lack of housing stock seems set to continue and with demand outweighing the supply of new properties coming onto the market, we will still see a significant proportion of properties selling at closing dates within a couple of weeks of being listed.
“Considering the uncertainty of recent months following the Brexit vote it would appear it is business as usual and the recent employment and PMI figures have provided additional confidence to the economy as a whole.
“Since the start of the year we have seen the reemergence of homes being sold well in the excess of Home Report values, predominately fueled by the growing sense of competition between buyers. Based on post Brexit sales, we would suggest the market has ‘calmed’ rather than contracted.”
