Rose and Stenson lead bid for fourth win

Europe defends its victory at Gleneagles two years ago

Golf – Ryder Cup: Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson will tee-off today as Europe sets out to win the Ryder Cup for a fourth time.

The pair, who won Gold and Silver respectively at the Rio Olympics, get the competition under way at 13:35 BST against Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed.

Among other pairings Rory McIlroy and Andy Sullivan face Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler.

Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer playJimmy Walker and Zach Johnson. Thomas Pieters and Lee Westwood take on Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar.

Rose and Stenson won Europe’s first points at Gleneagles two years ago on the way to a 16½-11½ victory.
