New partnership agreed

Waracle offers online boost to ScottishPower

WaracleA seven-figure strategic partnership between Waracle and ScottishPower will help the utility giant develop mobile and online services for its customers and those of its parent Iberdrola.

The deal will also see ScottishPower build upon the opportunities presented by SMART metering.

David Romilly, business development director at Waracle, which was recently acquired by Exception, said that the company was keen to bring the experiences of partnerships it had established in the financial services and pharmaceuticals industries to the utilities sector.

He said: “It’s been a big year. We became part of the Exception Group, moved offices and continue to expand our team. We are delighted that we have this opportunity to share our expertise and innovation with such an important customer.”

ScottishPower has already developed mobile apps, including its ‘Your Energy’ service offering, which enables customers to remotely control their heating (water and heating), review and submit meter readings, manage energy usage, make payments, review and change tariffs.

Craig Paterson, head of digital at ScottishPower said: “We see mobile, wearable and IoT as crucial to our ability to offer great service to our customers and are excited about the opportunities this new partnership brings.”
