Supermarket group expanding
Lidl acquires site for distribution centre
Supermarket chain Lidl is to build a regional distribution centre at Eurocentral after securing a site from Scottish Enterprise.
The 58,000 sq m centre will be built on 50 acres and will replace Lidl’s existing warehouse in Livingston. Employees have been assured that all existing job roles will be retained at the new premises.
Ross Millar, managing director for Lidl in Scotland, said it marks “another milestone” in Lidl’s expansion programme.
The expansion follows announcements earlier in the year to open new distribution centres in Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Wednesbury.
