Murray strolls into last eight in straight sets

Murray at WimbledonTennis – Wimbledon: Andy Murray eased into the quarter finals in a surprisingly one-sided match against the Australian Nick Kyrgios.

After a tight first set, Murray raced through the second and the big-serving Kyrgios appeared to lose fight and any will to win. Murray came through 7-5, 6-1, 6-4 in 1 hour 43 minutes.

Murray will next play the French number one Jo-Wilfried Tsonga after countryman and last year’s semi-finalist Richard Gasquet was forced to retire from their match with a back injury.

While sad for Gasquet it was good news for Tsonga who played a marathon five-set match against the American John Isner in the previous round.

In other results: Federer bt Johnson, Raonic bt Goffin and Cilic bt Nishikori, Querrey bt Mahut, Pouille bt Tomic.

In the women’s singles Serena Williams beat Kuznetsova.
