Firm wins further public sector work
Third Holyrood contract for Morton Fraser
Law firm, Morton Fraser, has been appointed as sole external legal adviser under the Scottish Government Framework 2015, providing litigation services to various directorates and agencies and to the Office of the Advocate General.
This latest contract win is the firm’s third from the government since last September following bids to provide debt recovery services and general property law services.
The new contract will see Morton Fraser’s public sector team provide a range of reparation, litigation and employment services for two years, with the option to extend the contract for a further two.
The firm’s public sector team, one of the largest in Scotland with more than 80 specialists and in excess of 100 clients, has worked with the Scottish and UK Governments for more than a decade.
Maggie Moodie (pictured), partner and public sector lead at Morton Fraser, said the contract “reinforces the strength of our public sector team and further cements a sustained period of growth for the firm overall”.
Morton Fraser has invested significantly in its public sector team in recent months, hiring Rory Alexander, former head of Edinburgh City Council’s legal team, and most recently Lynda Towers, former solicitor to the Scottish Parliament.
