New head of Tesco comms

Sibbald and Strachan take bank roles

Chris SibbaldTwo big moves have emerged in PR as Michael Strachan leaves Tesco Bank in Edinburgh and is replaced by Chris Sibbald (pictured) from Charlotte Street Partners.

Strachan is moving to London to join Santander. Before joining Tesco, he was part of the Royal Bank of Scotland media team at Gogarburn during and after the financial crisis. Tesco Bank was formerly a joint venture with RBS.

Sibbald, 26, who becomes head of a 15-strong communications team at Tesco Bank, was formerly a researcher for Angus Robertson MP.

He was part of the founding team at the Edinburgh and London based PR and public affairs agency Charlotte Street Partners in 2013. He also works with the John Smith’s Trust, a programme to help young people.

Sibbald follows Sharon Nimmo and Chris Deerin from the original team who have left the firm.

Arrivals include Kevin Pringle, who came in as a partner last year, and Tamsin Garrity last month. Jo Nove, who was appointed with Laura Leslie as an associate, is also now a partner. MT Rainey joined as a director. Former television journalists John Boothman and Harriet Moll arrived last month as associate partners.
