Hull host champions; McCall move

Leicester CityFootball: Newly-crowned English Premier League title holders Leicester City will visit newly-promoted Hull City on the opening day of the season.

Championship winners Middlesbrough host Stoke City while Burnley will play Swansea City.

Pick of the fixtures list, published today, is Arsenal’s home match against Liverpool. There is an all-London opener with West Ham visiting Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho will make his debut as Manchester United’s new coach at Bournemouth whom they beat 3-1 on the final day of last season.

The season kicks off on 13 August.

Football: Stuart McCall is expected to return for a second spell as manager of Bradford City. The former Scottish international left Rangers after they missed out on promotion last seaon and has agreed a deal in principle at Valley Parade.

The 52-year-old’s appointment would mean relinquishing his role as number three to Gordon Strachan with Scotland national team.

McCall played for the Bantams and was manager from 2007 to 2010. He is expected to succeed Phil Parkinson, who has moved to relegated Bolton Wanderers to replace Neil Lennon.

After leaving Bradford, McCall took charge at Motherwell for for four years.
