Firm makes Edinburgh move
Insurance broker TL Dallas returns ‘home’
The firm has been operating in Scotland since 1993 when it established an office in Shetland. It later opened offices in Falkirk and Glasgow.
The firm now operates across 10 offices in Shetland, Glasgow, Falkirk, Edinburgh, Bradford, Stockport, Huddersfield, London, Surrey, and Belfast. and employs over 115 insurance and risk management professionals.
In November it funded a ‘buy back’ of much of the former Castle Cairn business that had been sold to Central Insurance in 2011 (now Marsh).
Existing TL Dallas Client Director in the East, Tim Mackenzie, is now joined by a team of nine led by Alan Grant and Helene Brown, who respectively will focus on commercial risks and private client insurance.
Polly Staveley, deputy group managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be moving into our new offices in the heart of Edinburgh, bringing us firmly ‘home’ to the city where our founder, and my great grandfather, Thomas Lessels Dallas started his business career – and in the very street where Castle Cairn was established in 1979.”
TL Dallas’ continued development comes on the back of a successful year, with the
TL Dallas Group reporting a 7% increase in turnover to £7,883,925 and group operating profit up slightly to £1,241,687. Projected premium placement revenue for 2016 is set to exceed £60m.
The company opened an office in Belfast at the beginning of this year. Having previously offered specialist credit insurance in Northern Ireland, this is the firm’s first full service insurance broking office covering both general commercial and personal insurance in the region.
