Overseas expansion for agency
Beattie targeting network across Canada
Beattie, the communications group, is to expand into Canada and has identified four locations as the first of a network across the country.
The first office will be in Toronto with others following in Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver.
Leading Beattie’s business in Canada will be Toronto-born Jessica McAndrew who was a strategy coach before joining Groundzero marketing in the city in 2010. She joined Beattie six months ago.
She said: “It’s an exciting time for Beattie as we are embarking our international expansion during our 30th anniversary year and I am very much looking forward to the challenge of breaking into the Canadian market.
“We have ambitious plans and the number of jobs we create in Canada in year one will obviously be dependent on the amount of business we secure.”
Group managing director Laurna Woods said: “We intend to focus on English-speaking countries but we are not ruling out targeting countries with strong economies like Germany.
“We will replicate in Canada what we have in the UK – a network of offices spanning the country.
“We chose Canada because it is a dynamic, forward-thinking country with a vibrant creative community.
“We already have a number of international clients who operate across North America and as well as targeting new brands, we will be looking to secure work in Canada from existing clients.
“From humble beginnings our goal is to grow our business so that we become a significant player in the Canadian market.
“We will be offering a fully integrated communications and marketing service featuring PR, social, digital and creative services.”
