Tweedie elected chairman at Lindsays
Peter Tweedie, corporate partner who joined Lindsays with the Shield & Kyd merger four years ago, has been elected chairman. He takes over from David Reith, private client partner who has been in the role for five years.
In his new role, Mr Tweedie will be working with the management team, including Alasdair Cummings, managing partner and Ian Beattie, chief operating officer, as well as board members Callum Kennedy (partner and head of private client), and Derek Duncan (partner in residential property) who is based in Dundee and joined the firm when it merged with RSB Macdonald in July 2015.
Mr Tweedie said: “I would hope to increase the firm’s market share both by satisfying the needs of existing clients and anticipating their needs for the future.”
Mr Cummings, said: “I am excited by the opportunity that we have to take the business forward in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.
“Peter brings a natural commercial outlook to the table which is invaluable for us to realise our ambition to grow.
“As part of our Tayside expansion, we have recently secured an additional 2,600 square feet of office space in Seabraes. Our strategic plan is to continue to increase our presence in this region and further develop the range of services we offer to both our individual and commercial clients.”
RSB Lindsays, as the firm is known in Dundee and Tayside, has grown rapidly over the past 12 months. The firm now boasts 10 partners and more than 35 staff in the firm’s West End office in Seabraes and in Crichton Street.
