Hinkles returns to Loganair as managing director
Mr Hinkles, a former chief operating officer at the company, returns after four years at Virgin Atlantic as vice-president of operations and crewing.
At Loganair he replaces Stewart Adams, who left at the end of April.
Mr Hinkles’ entire 23-year career has been within the airline industry and he has extensive experience in all aspects of airline management. He will take up his post in late June.
Loganair chairman David Harrison said: “We are extremely pleased that Jonathan is rejoining the company.
“During his previous time here he became well-known and respected by all our stakeholders. His extensive industry experience, expanded by four years at the sharp end of the Virgin Atlantic operation, combined with his deep knowledge of the Loganair operation, means Jonathan is uniquely well-qualified to lead Loganair in the coming years.”
Mr Hinkles said: “I spent almost four years with Loganair, and this feels like coming home.
“I’m familiar with the airline and its markets from my earlier time as chief operating officer. It’s an exciting and challenging time for the business.”
