Speculation over games plan
August launch expected for FanDuel UK
The company, which has been planning to extend its daily games to the UK for some time, is understood to be awaiting approval of a licence.
It is understood the Edinburgh and New York headquartered company, co-founded by Northern Irishman Nigel Eccles (pictured) will offer football only content and will be focused on the English Premier League.
Rival operator DraftKings began operating in the UK in February but concentrates on US sports such as baseball and basketball.
Both companies are looking to extend their overseas operations, not least because of restrictions in the US market where they are facing allegations that the games breach gambling laws. Both companies deny the claims.
