McLean joins Edinburgh team
Public sector pressures drive growth at Space
Design and property specialist, Space Solutions, has grown first quarter revenue by 169% to £4.8 million against the same period last year.
Derek Binnie (left), director in central Scotland said the results were driven by three market trends: increased business confidence and more lease events, as well as public sector budget pressures.
“The tenant property market is moving, but companies have learnt the lessons of the recession and are looking to secure advice on the right size of property before committing.
“In addition, businesses and organisations have learnt that creating inspiring environments delivers commercial and cultural growth. Landlords are also looking to maximise their occupancy rates and are investing in upgrading property to meet the stock issue of Grade A space available in our cities.
“The public sector is under significant pressure to maximise efficiencies and is engaging in a multitude of strategic initiatives: estate rationalisation, facilities management reviews and intelligent working styles to cut costs.”
The company has added Alistair McLean to its Edinburgh team. He has a background in design and property for national and international brands.
