Barker to support BGF clients in Scotland
Mr Barker has more than 13 years’ experience of equity funding gained, most recently, as a director at Caird Capital where he worked on a number of transactions including the sale of Tuffnells to Connect Group plc and the investment in and subsequent IPO of McColl’s Retail Group. He began his career at HSBC and held senior roles at Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance, where he worked for eight years.
Mr Barker joins a team of 10 investors covering Scotland and will initially focus on the Central Belt. He also has responsibilities in North of England, and will travel between BGF’s offices in Manchester and Edinburgh.
Since 2011, BGF has invested close to £130m across 16 growing business headquartered in Scotland. These include a range of companies and sectors including M Squared, a designer and manufacturer of lasers and optical instruments; Aubin, a provider of specialist chemicals for the oil and gas industry, and windows and doors manufacturer, Stevenswood.
