Bakery adding jobs after investing in facilities

DuncanA third generation family bakery firm is increasing its payroll significantly after investing in extra warehousing and storage space.

Duncan’s of Deeside, based in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire has received a funding package from Clydesdale Bank to boost its facilities which will add up to 10 jobs to the current 15.

Founded over three decades ago, Duncan’s is led by managing directors Len and Dawn Duncan. Len’s mother, Betty, started the business by baking biscuits in her kitchen.

Duncan’s now produces more than 140,000 biscuits daily, still using Betty Duncan’s original recipes. They are sold around the world.

The company said it anticipates a busy 2016.
