Welcome relief for vacant property

Tenants secured for Belshill industrial units

Righead unitProperty consultant CBRE has secured tenants for two industrial units at the Righead Industrial Estate in Bellshill.

Quantum Europoint has taken a 15,790 sq ft refurbished unit at James Street on a five year lease with rent set at £75,000 a year. The premises will house materials for the sign making, wide format printing and industrial plastics market in Scotland.

Howdens Joinery Properties, a supplier of kitchens, will increase its operations when it relocates to an alternative unit in James Street. It has taken 10,425 sq ft on a 15 year lease at a rent of £65,000 per annum. The move will allow Howdens to expand its floorspace in Bellshill by almost 50%.

The lettings will be welcomed at a time when new rules affecting business rates on vacant industrial units are due to come into effect.

David Rolwegan, associate director at CBRE, said: “I am confident that it won’t be too long before we announce a further letting.”

CBRE represented landlord Wordie Properties whilst Montagu Evans acted for Howdens Joinery Properties Ltd and Dunard represented Quantum Europoint.
