Fees milestone for Gillespie Macandrew
It reported a 5% rise in unaudited fees and other income to £10.5 million for the year to 29 February, a fourth year of growth.
The firm, which has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, has continued to focus on expanding organically and has added two associates to the Glasgow team to boost its strengths in land and property.
Chairman Murray Shaw said: “We are quietly, though I should say justifiably, positive about our performance in the past year. The 5% increase takes us past another small milestone.
“In the past year we have focused on growing the business organically rather than by merger or acquisition and this is bearing fruit. The new partners and staff we have brought in and on during the past year have increased our capacity and we look forward to greater growth in 2016/17. We are grateful to our clients and our staff for their continued support.”
Chief executive Chris West added: “While we won’t have the final profit position until after the audit we have achieved this increase in turnover with fewer resources than expected and margins and profits will be up accordingly.
“Our cash position remains very strong and we enter 2016/17 with no borrowing giving us an excellent platform for the further people and systems investments we will make to even better meet our clients’ needs. As part of this we expect to grow our presence in Glasgow and Perth in particular.”
