Strategy switch for fittings firm

Diversification boosts orders for Modul8

Andy DavieA switch in strategy from oil and gas to public sector work and other areas of Scotland is paying dividends for an Edinburgh based interior fittings firm.

Modul8, based in Aberdeen and Livingston, has won nine projects ranging in value from £35,000 to £180,000 and about £1 million in total.

Space Solutions acquired the business four years ago and it currently has a turnover of £5.2 million.

“To start the year so strongly with a pipeline of project work is great and is a direct result of the new strategy of broadening the geographical and sector focus,” said a spokesman.

“It also means that our costs of acquisition are reducing when compared to winning work from just the oil and gas sector alone.”

Andy Davie of Modul8 said:  “We are aiming to ensure that our experience and capabilities are available to a broader range of clients, including the public sector.”
