Archangels syndicate appoints Hardy as CIO

David ArchangelsArchangel, the investment syndicate, has appointed Sarah Hardy as chief investment officer.

Ms Hardy joins chief operating officer, David Ovens, and investment director, Niki McKenzie, to complete Archangels’ executive team line-up.

She will be responsible for overseeing Scotland’s largest business angel syndicate’s investment strategy and will have specific responsibility for liaison with a number of Archangels’ investee companies.

Ms Hardy joins Archangels from the Wellcome Trust, the independent charitable foundation dedicated to improving health, where she worked for 14 years. Most recently she was responsible for early stage funding and exits of life sciences and technology opportunities, working within the Trust’s Innovations Department.

She said: “Scotland has vibrant life sciences and technology sectors and I relish the opportunity to assist Archangels in providing early stage funding in these vital areas.

“Archangels’ investment team has an enviable track record and I look forward to being a part of that, engaging further with Scotland’s universities and helping to get even more Scottish success stories off the ground.”
