Recruitment firm hiring for overseas growth

Gavin SpeirsA Glasgow-based international recruitment business has secured grant funding to expand into new premises and create 20 jobs.

Solutions Driven has been awarded a regional selective assistance to support the jobs expansion over the next two years to add to its 45 staff. Five years ago the company employed 19 across the UK.

The firm will be hiring across executive recruitment, talent sourcing and recruitment process outsourcing, It generates more than 60% of its annual turnover from international sources.

In the past 12 months it has secured more than 200 appointments for a range of international clients at home and abroad.

Gavin Speirs, chief executive, said the business had experienced significant growth in recent years, despite the downturn in sectors such as oil and gas, which had previously been positive for the company.

He said: “Hiring and recruitment trends can be cyclical and even counter-cyclical in the case of the oil and gas sector. We are using our experience in a range of sectors and applying them to different geographies across the world.

“By continually investing in our people and our business, we have experienced strong growth as we expand the services we provide, the technology we use and the markets in which we operate.

“The support we’ve been able to access from Scottish Enterprise will be another catalyst for our international growth and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our business and our customers.”
