Kowalski adds another prize for finance planning

Rebecca KowalskiEdinburgh-based senior planner Rebecca Kowalski of Cornerstone Asset Management, the independent financial advisor, was named UK Paraplanner of the Year at the 2016 Professional Adviser Awards.

Cornerstone was also awarded highly commended in the Adviser Firm of the Year category for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

More than 200 firms entered the awards with the winners announced at a ceremony at The Brewery in London.

Now in their 11th year, the 2016 Professional Adviser Awards recognise excellence in financial advice and the wider sector.

Ms Kowalski (pictured with television and radio presenter Colin Murray) is one of Scotland’s best known paraplanners. This latest award win is in addition to previous accolades including the IFP Paraplanner of the Year (2008), PFS Paraplanner of the Year (2014) and the Turris Partnership Prize for Achievement in FPFS results. She is also one of only eight planners to be recognised by the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow.

The judges, commenting on her innovative approach to planning, said: “She can demonstrate year-on-year change and innovation within her role.”

They also stated that “Rebecca is clearly fundamental to the success of the business overall, and she champions various technically-focused initiatives.”

Commenting on the award wins, Alan Reid, managing partner, said: “We are extremely proud of Rebecca’s achievement and our congratulations go out to her on this well-deserved award.”
