Millar appointed to top role at CMS
Mr Millar has been with the firm since 2003 and joined the board in 2013 as practice group manager for energy, projects and construction.
Following CMS’s merger with Dundas & Wilson, which completed in 2014, he also became co-executive partner for Scotland.
He has acted on a range of North Sea deals, including ConocoPhillips’ sale of a gas field stake to Scottish Gas owner Centrica, and BP’s sale of upstream assets in the US, Canada and Egypt to Apache.
“CMS is full of potential, is in good shape and poised for greater things,” he said.
CMS senior partner, chairman of the board and head of energy, Penelope Warne said: “Stephen’s global experience as an oil and gas lawyer and from establishing a number of our international offices, together with his background both in London and Scotland, means he will bring a great deal of valuable insights, knowledge and energy to the role.”
