Relocation for Bishop's Move
Storage firm moves to former Crystal warehouse
Bishop’s Move, the largest family-owned storage and removals company in the UK, has agreed a ten year lease on 20,826 sq ft of storage and office space at Eastfield Industrial Estate in Penicuik, Midlothian. The firm has relocated 22 staff from Loanhead.
The new facility forms a major part of the now fully re-developed former Edinburgh Crystal warehouse and distribution unit which lay dormant for nearly seven years, before being converted into 35,500 sq ft of flexible office/warehouse space.
This latest conversion by owner, Midlothian-based Alex F Noble & Son, constitutes phase three of the staged expansion of the estate and follows on from the successful completion of the first two phases amounting to some 89,000 sq ft, which are fully let. Employee numbers across the 14 units let stands in excess of 125.
David Mills, Bishop’s Move’s general manager in Scotland said: “Having quickly outgrown our former premises, our new home at Eastfield ticks all the boxes for us through an attractive combination of immediate and flexible accommodation coupled with favourable lease terms, significant yard and parking areas and an excellent location near to the Edinburgh City bypass.”
Mr Mills continued: “The owners are to be congratulated on their excellent understanding of the requirements of businesses such as ours seeking to relocate and for creating a first class and vibrant hub for companies to trade on a cost-effective basis.”
Eastfield Industrial Estate was acquired by Alex F Noble & Son in April 2009 before being refurbished and sub-divided into smaller units, with Edinburgh-based Coates & Company acting as agent.
