Shares drift on lower oil prices

London Stock ExchangeMon close: Shares drifted lower as oil weakened after last week’s bounce, forcing the energy sector lower.

The FTSE 100 closed down 23 points (0.39%) at 5,877.

Lloyds Banking Group was a faller, down 3.7p (5.56%) at 63.15p on a broker downgrade because of continued low interest rates.

Kingfisher was down 6% after it said its plans will hit profits over two years.

Fife shop and office fitter Havelock Europa shares soared 41.7% to 8.5p after saying it had hit targets on cost-cutting.
