Ramsay to head up Bilfinger GVA Glasgow
Alasdair Ramsay takes over from Eric Forgie as regional senior director of Bilfinger GVA’s 60-strong Glasgow office this week.
The investment agent will look to bolster and strengthen the office further as he and Keith Aitken, the head of Bilfinger GVA’s Scotland business, look to build on the exceptional growth the company has achieved over the past two years following the acquisition of James Barr in 2013.
Mr Ramsay is one of three new regional senior directors announced by Bilfinger GVA with Roger Spiers taking over in Newcastle and Ben Hall in Leeds. Their remits are to lead, strengthen and grow their respective offices in line with the company’s national and regional business strategy.
Rob Bould, chief executive of Bilfinger GVA, said: “We have a strong critical mass in each of these locations, but with these key appointments, not only are we shepherding in a new generation of exceptional talent, but we can now look to further grow our capabilities.”
Mr Ramsay joined Bilfinger GVA in September having previously headed up Deloitte Real Estate in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and before that, Drivers Jonas. He brings 28 years’ of experience in commercial real estate and will lead on Bilfinger GVA’s corporate and investment client portfolio.
“Our ambition is to become Scotland’s leading advisor of choice”, he said. “This company is not only growing in size but in confidence too in its ability to compete with the very best. I look forward to working alongside an exceptionally talented team here in Glasgow and in partnership with my colleagues in Edinburgh, and indeed across the UK.”
Mr Ramsay’s career has been built on a reputation for deal-led business, as well as organisational management, cost efficiency and operational excellence.
