Paterson moves to BDO’s Edinburgh office
BDO has announced that tax director James Paterson has transferred from London to the Edinburgh office. He has a specialism in real estate and has been brought in to expand the firm’s tax services.
He trained with BDO and for the last nine years he has assisted domestic and international groups in connection with tax compliance matters, providing advice in connection with the structuring of operations, and advising on issues for shareholders.
He is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Chartered Institute of Taxation, and has been closely involved with a number of entrepreneurial businesses involved in real estate as well as institutions and large corporate groups.
He said: “This is a great opportunity to advise businesses throughout Scotland and to utilise my experience in providing the full spectrum of tax compliance and advisory services, especially given the anticipated further devolution of Scottish taxes. I have advised on numerous transactions at all levels of the market and I am excited at the prospect of being part of the tax team in Scotland.”
