Jamie makes it more Murray joy down under

Jamie Murray servingJamie Murray this morning added to the growing success for the Great Britain team at the Australian Open after reaching the semi-final of the men’s doubles tournament.

He and and Bruno Soares beat Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram 6-7, 6-4, 7-6.

Young brother Andy and fellow Brit Johanna Konta have already secured last eight slots in the men’s and women’s singles – the first time a British pair have reached this stage in a Grand Slam for 39 years.

Murray and Soares are the highest seeds left in the men’s doubles at No 7 and will fancy their chances against the unseeded French pairing of Adrian Mannarino and Lucas Pouille in the last four.

There is also a prospect of more success in the mixed doubles.
