Treble semi booked for Brits as Murray triumphs
Jamie Murray is already through the semi-final of the men’s doubles.
World number two Murray beat Spain’s David Ferrer 6-3, 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 to reach his sixth Australian Open Final.
He will play the winner of the match between No. 13 Milos Raonic and No. 23 Gael Monfils.
The other semifinal is between Novak Djokovic, the No. 1 seed and No. 3 Roger Federer.
Murray has been in the Australian final four times.
Konta annihilated China’s Zhang Shuai 6-4, 6-1 to become the first British woman in a Grand Slam semi-final since Jo Durie in 1983. She now faces Angelique Kerber who beat Victoria Azarenka.
