Former Standard Life chief executive David Nish has joined the London Stock Exchange as an independent non-executive director.
Mr Nish was at the helm of Standard Life between January 2010 and August this year when he stepped down, to be replaced by Standard Life Investments boss Keith Skeoch.
Before joining Standard Life, Mr Nish was finance director at ScottishPower and is a former partner at Price Waterhouse.
Under his tenure as chief executive, Standard Life’s market capitalisation increased from £4.8 billion to £9.3bn and the company returned £3.7bn to shareholders.
His other non-executive director roles are Vodafone, the UK Green Investment Bank, Northern Foods and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
