New role for Wood in SBC-BITC merger

Jane WoodJane Wood, chief executive of Scottish Business in the Community (SBC), is to take on a new and expanded role in the organisation’s merger with the UK body.

Wood will become director of external affairs and managing director of Business in the Community Scotland.

She has been in her current role for six years, during which time she has secured cross-border multi-charity funding to benefit vulnerable groups in ethnicity, poverty, education and health.

Her new position, effective from the new year, will see her work across the UK. Mark Bevan, who recently joined, will be deputy MD and operations director for SBC.

The merger will enable SBC to its service provision in Scotland through increased access to programmes, campaigns and businesses.

Mrs Wood said: “This is a very exciting time for those committed to the responsible business movement in the UK and we look forward to our collective power delivering transformational change in the way we do business and engage with society.”
