Macdonald placing 400 young on path to jobs
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, one of the UK’s largest independent groups in the sector, is placing 400 unemployed young people into full-time traineeships next year.
Working in partnership with Total People, Macdonald Hotels is offering work experience placements in 17 of its 48 hotels.
Unemployed 16 to 24 year olds will be able to apply for the 16 week “Future Talent” programme which will give them experience in all aspects of the hospitality industry.
After four weeks, individuals will be able to focus on their preferred positions, mentored by senior managers. Candidates will also spend two days a week with Total People, which will deliver theory-based lessons.
After four months, successful participants will graduate and be placed into a vacancy or apprenticeship programme.
Kellie Rixon, brand director at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: “We’re committed to providing real opportunities for people to enter employment. The training is rigorous, but participants will have access to some of the best in the business, putting them on a genuine path to success.”
The Scottish hotels taking part in the Future Talent programme are:
