Jones takes top job at Scottish Financial Enterprise
Graeme Jones, a senior partner at Experian, has been appointed chief executive of Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), replacing Owen Kelly who has held the post since 2008.
Mr Jones, a specialist in banking and financial services, will take up the role next month. He was previously head of distribution for Aviva, head of regulated sales at RBS Group, and manager of strategy and operations at Standard Life.
He said: “The financial services industry is hugely important to Scotland and has been a very important part of my entire career. I look forward to the new challenges this role will bring and to putting something back into the industry which has given me so much.”
Welcoming him to the role, SFE Chairman Sir Ewan Brown, said: “Graeme will bring with him a tremendous amount of experience and expertise of the financial services industry to the role of chief executive and I believe his contribution to the work of SFE will be invaluable. I look forward to working with Graeme to support and promote our industry which is so important to the UK economy.”
Mr Kelly is undertaking a range of academic work at Edinburgh and Napier universities.
SFE is the representative body for Scotland’s financial services industry. Member companies range from global organisations headquartered in Scotland to small specialist support companies. They include banks, general insurance, life insurance, pensions, investment management, asset servicing, professional services, wealth management and business services.
