Launch of The Digital Co
Firm galvanises team to fill digital marketing ‘gap’
The Digital Co, a digital marketing training and membership venture, launches this week with the aim of addressing what it regards as a gap in digital marketing expertise across Scotland’s corporate sector.
It will work in partnership with Scotland-based digital agencies QueryClick, 8 Million Stories and Informed Design.
A 2014 Digital Scotland report found that three-quarters of Scottish businesses view their online presence as important and 65% agreed that online marketing was crucial to their internet success.
However, more than 60% of Scottish businesses say they are not sufficiently equipped with the skills to match their business needs. A Federation of Small Business report revealed that 20% of businesses polled blamed lack of ability in marketing as the single biggest barrier to growth prospects.
Paul Monteath, managing director and co-founder of The Digital Co with his wife Marie (pictured), said: “Traditionally, Scottish businesses have had to look south to get cutting edge training in digital marketing.

Mr Monteath has been in digital marketing for more than eight years, working on regional, national and global brands across finance, travel, retail, health and gaming industries.
In particular, it was his role at, DigitasLBi (formerly bigmouthmedia) where he led marketing strategies for clients such as Hotels.com, Lloyds TSB, Bupa, Skype and Sony Playstation.
QueryClick, founded 7 years ago by Chris Liversidge, is a data-led, performance driven Search Marketing agency based in Edinburgh. It continues to campaigns for an impressive list of clients such as Aggreko,All Saints, EE, Hilton Hotels and Toys R Us.
