Three year deal
Engineering firm in IT partnership to support growth
Consulting engineer, Patrick Parsons, has invested £120,000 in its IT support systems in a strategic move that will allow the business to concentrate on managing its continued growth.
The decision by the Newcastle headquartered multi-disciplinary engineering firm will see national IT specialists Technology Services Group (TSG) partner with Patrick Parsons and look after its head office and other UK offices in London, Birmingham, Chester, Manchester, Huddersfield, Ash Vale and Glasgow over the course of a three year deal.
Peter Stienlet (pictured), managing director at Patrick Parsons, said: “This has been a great year for Patrick Parsons with some important growth for the group. In order to make sure this progress continues it was important we had robust technologies and systems supporting the business as part of our long-term strategic plans.”
The initial phase of the project will see Patrick Parsons adopt TSG’s advanced proactive support service, TSG SystemCare, analysing and replacing servers and desktops where appropriate. Patrick Parsons’ will take advantage of a true hybrid solution combining cloud services and on premise data storage. Its email will be migrated to Microsoft Office 365 whilst other project data will be hosted on premise or utilising TSG’s datacentre partner Pulsant.
Paul Burns, National Technical Director at TSG, explained: “Patrick Parsons is a great example of how TSG is helping customers bring the best out of their business by maximising their investment in technology. We combine decades of experience, the highest level of accreditation and exceptional relationships with best-of-breed partners to create modern solutions that bring tangible results.
“Thanks to TSG SystemCare’s advanced 24/7 monitoring, Patrick Parsons is protected against catastrophic system failure, downtime and data loss. This monitoring minimises the frustrating and costly downtime that can often prevent businesses concentrating on what is really important – developing and growing.”
Mr Stienlet continued: “TSG impressed us from the start, providing us with a clear and fully comprehensive strategy for the business’ systems going forward which also allowed for the seamless integration of recent acquisitions. Its presence across the UK also maps conveniently against our locations making it ideal for reacting to any issues that may arise.”
Subsequent phases for Patrick Parsons will see other important applications implemented to help drive the business forward. Microsoft SharePoint will be considered as an early phase as it looks to optimise its collaboration, workflow and document visibility across its multiple sites.
