Snubbed Thomson among friends at FSB dinner
Troubled MP Michelle Thomson who was “uninvited” to tonight’s Scottish Business Awards was among friends at the Federation of Small Businesses dinner last night.
The Edinburgh West politician suffered the humiliation of having an invitation to the “Clooney bash” at the EICC withdrawn by Edinburgh Airport.
It had asked her to join a table with airport boss Gordon Dewar, who has been shortlisted for chief executive of the year.
But the invitation was withdrawn in the light of ongoing controversy around her property dealings.
The issue didn’t seem to bother those who asked her to attend last night’s FSB east of Scotland dinner held at the same venue.
Ms Thomson, who denies any wrongdoing, quit the SNP group in the Commons over her business dealings, which involved buying and selling homes. A solicitor who acted for her has been struck off for professional misconduct.
