Mid-tier accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael has appointed Big Partnership to handle its PR account. It is currently held by former Big executive Bill Shaw.

Daily Business understands that Big will take over next month and its appointment suggests Johnston Carmichael is preparing a nationwide push to raise its profile on the back of some recent high profile appointments.

It has launched a consulting division under former Cala Homes and IndigoVision management accountant Alistair Black and hired restructuring specialist Bryan Jackson who had retired from BDO.

Morrison Media Strategies has taken on the PR for law firm MacRoberts which had been using Lucid.
