Easyjet adds Marseille to Glasgow’s flight links

EasyjetEasyJet is expanding its Scottish network with the first direct flights between Glasgow and Marseille.

The new summer service, which is expected to carry 10,000 passengers a year, launches on 29 June and will operate twice weekly.

Easyjet connects Glasgow with 20 cities and already flies to Marseille from London Gatwick and Manchester.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s head of Scotland, said: “As Scotland’s largest airline we are pleased to further strengthen our network with the announcement of this new route to Marseille.  We believe that this will prove a popular addition to our existing network.”

Francois Bourienne, commercial director at Glasgow Airport, said: “This announcement is fantastic news for the city, the airport and for our passengers.  Glasgow has been formally twinned with Marseille since 2006 and our two cities share many characteristics and cultural ties.”

>> British Airways is to reinstate daily flights between Inverness and Heathrow. A new service is to launch next May.
