Williams & Glyn hires marketing director
Reporting to Chief Executive Jim Brown, his role will be to ensure that Williams & Glyn has a strong focus on making banking easier for its customers whilst marketing the newly created bank for the first time since it disappeared from the high street in the 1980s.
He will be responsible for marketing, customer experience, branding, product development and management of digital channels.
For the past seven years he has held a number of senior marketing roles within GE Capital in the UK and internationally. Most recently he was chief marketing officer for Working Capital Solutions, GE Capital. Prior to that he held senior roles at Barclays and Barclaycard.
He will start with Williams & Glyn on 4 January 2016.
He said: “This is a really exciting time to be joining Williams & Glyn. I am looking forward to playing my part in building a new UK bank that will start to appear on the UK high street again from next year. It’s a huge privilege to be involved in launching a bank that has a rich and proud history dating back to the 1700s.”
Mr Brown, chief executive, said: “I’m extremely pleased to welcome Jason to Williams & Glyn. I know his insight, experience and expertise will be invaluable to the bank we are creating. He will be an integral figure in building the bank and his appointment is another important milestone towards launching Williams & Glyn next year.”
