Shire up on speculation of bid for US rival
Fri: Drugmaker Shire saw its shares rise on speculation that it could be lining up a bid for US rival Radius Health which is seen as a good fit for the British company.
The prospect of a deal helped lift Shire by around 3% 4,510p and the FTSE100 by 0.6% to 6,376.97.
Expectations of new stimulus measures from China added to the buoyant mood.
