Brown takes up v-p role at food association
Ms Brown, an associate in the intellectual property & technology department at commercial law firm Maclay Murray & Spens, will make use of her expertise in the food and drink sector to help drive the association in its efforts to promote networking and collaboration.
She will also help ensure that its members and their guests are brought together at the annual golf events and dinner to network and meet other members.
She said: “After years of supporting food and drink firms at MMS, I was very pleased to take on this additional role with the SFTA, which fulfils such an important role for the sector.”
Established in 1889, the SFTA is the principal networking organisation for the food industry in Scotland and facilitates a regular exchange of ideas and information between members. A key part of this is its renowned annual dinner, which has a reputation for showcasing the best of Scottish food.
SFTA president Malcolm Wilde added: “I was delighted when Julie accepted the role of vice president. She has all of the attributes we look for and has been a great addition to the executive committee of the SFTA.”
