Pickering’s ships gin to three export markets
With the support of Scottish Development International, the trade promotion arm of Scottish Enterprise, it has made its first shipments to Canada, central and northern Europe, and Hong Kong.
Marcus Pickering, co-founder alongside Matt Gammell, said: “It is testament to the quality of our products that there has been such an interest and demand for our premium gins.”
The company is hoping to add New Zealand and Australia as the next market destinations.
Mr Gammell said: “For the past two years, we have been the official gin sponsor of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and we are thrilled to be joining the tattoo Down Under next February in Australia and New Zealand. Over the next few months we will be visiting Melbourne and Wellington, introducing our gin to this emerging gin market.”
Pickering’s Gin was launched in March last year at Summerhall Distillery based on an original recipe, handwritten on a fragment of paper dated 17 July 1947. It has been fine-tuned, perfecting its balance, and tweaking it for today’s contemporary palate. It contains nine botanicals including juniper, coriander, cardamom and fennel.
