Old Bags push funds raised through £2m

Lunch with an Old BagCharity fund-raiser Lunch With an Old Bag at Prestonfield House raised a record £550,350 for the Princes Trust Scotland.

It takes the total raised since it launched in 2009 to more than £2 million.

This year’s auction prizes included the usual branded handbags – one sold for £10,500 – and holiday trips. Jack Vettriano was present for an auction of his paintings.

Other celebrity guests included Glasgow singer and actor Darius. There were more than 600 bids.

While mainly a ladies event, the committee has enlisted “Honorary Old Bags” such as Capital FM’s Des Clarke, Forth One’s Grant Scott , and venue host James Thomson.
