Rapid growth in digital sector

Expanding ideas agency Equator seeking 20 staff

John McLeishIdeas agency Equator is seeking 20 staff as it builds on rapid recent expansion. Already employing 130 staff at its headquarters in Finnieston, Glasgow, the agency wants to scale up to support organic growth and new client wins in the hotel and financial services sectors.

John McLeish, managing director, said the agency is looking for a breadth of skills and expertise, such as creatives, web developers, marketers, producers and account handlers.

He said: “The past 12 months have been very exciting for Equator, winning a host of new projects and growing the work we deliver for our retained client base.

“We now need to scale across the business and are seeking experienced people to join us as we embark on a new period of sustained growth.

“As an agency committed to skills and training, we also want to bring in graduates and talented individuals with a passion for bringing brands to life in a modern connected world.”

The recruitment demand has also been driven from a recent evolution of the business, which has seen the agency restructured into vertical sector teams to reflect its dominance in the hotel, financial and utilities sectors.

The sector approach has been backed by the creation of an innovations department, aimed at researching developing technologies and how they can be used to benefit Equator’s clients.

Mr McLeish added: “The digital landscape has changed dramatically in the last five years and we are now very much positioned as an ideas agency, delivering digitally-led solutions for our partners.

“Having dedicated multi-disciplinary sector and innovation teams has strengthened our sector knowledge, improving our integrated proposition and the level of insight and expertise we can offer our clients.”

Equator was established in 1999 and now works with a host of recognised brands including Disney, Paul Mitchell, SSE and Malmaison.
