Core-Asset hires McNab to bolster top team

Karen McNabCore-Asset Consulting, the financial sector recruitment company, has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Karen McNab to the newly-created position of associate director, product & strategy.

Ms McNab will be responsible for developing a range of products and services to better meet the needs of clients and candidates. The role will also focus on enhancing the efficiency of key recruitment operations. She joins the company on 21 September and will report to Betsy Williamson, managing director.

Prior to joining Core-Asset Consulting, Ms McNab held senior HR roles at Tesco Bank and Alliance Trust. She began her career in the recruitment industry.

Her appointment brings the total number of employees at Core-Asset Consulting to 32, an increase of more than 100% in two years.

Ms Williamson said: “The recruitment industry is changing – perhaps more radically than some people realise. This is not simply in terms of technological advances but more fundamentally in the rising expectations of clients and candidates.

“Stakeholder groups – particularly within the financial sector – are demanding higher levels of expertise, engagement and value from recruiters. Karen’s appointment reflects our commitment to continuous improvement in these areas.

“With extensive experience on both sides of the fence – internal HR and external recruitment – Karen brings a unique insight into the issues facing clients and candidates and in turn the products and services likely to solve them.

“The launch of Core-Asset Verify, our new vetting and on-boarding division, and the gradual roll out of our Principal Recruitment Partner model to select clients, highlights our holistic approach to recruitment – where we strive to remove from the client all the ‘pain points’ in converting the unknown but ideal candidate into a long-term employee.

“Karen will be charged with developing these services further and I look forward to welcoming her to the team.”
