Loan players moving to Easter Road

Hibs hero Allan heading to Parkhead

Scott AllanScottish football’s biggest question has been answered with Hibernian finally selling the club’s prized midfielder Scott Allan. Champions Celtic have gazumped Old Firm rivals Rangers with a £275,000 offer that includes two Parkhead players moving to Easter Road.

One is Dylan McGeouch who had a successful loan spell last season. Scotland under-19 midfielder Liam Henderson is  the other.

Hibernian manager, Alan Stubbs, last week put a £1 million price tag on Allan who has been the subject of at least two firm bids for the player but at no more than a third of Hibs’ expectations.

Despite Stubbs’ attempts to hold on to Allan, who he sees as a vital part of his attempts to secure promotion, the club will let him leave rather than have the issue become a damaging distraction. A sale has never been ruled out, only a sale to Rangers who pose the biggest threat to the club’s ambitions.

Speaking at yesterday’s lunchtime press conference Celtic manager Ronny Deila said:  “I don’t comment until it’s done. We shall see if something happens or not. Right now, nothing is clear.”

However, a deal has been agreed following talks that took place at Celtic’s training ground at Lennoxtown yesterday.

Celtic are expected to make £10 million from the sale of Virgil van Dijk to English Premier League club Southampton.
