Booking firm Make It Social teams up with Scottish Rugby

Make It SocialAn Edinburgh-based provider of group booking technology is partnering with Scottish Rugby ahead of the Rugby World Cup and after raising £215,000 from private investors.

The firm, headquartered at the Codebase technology hub, has also bolstered the team by hiring former Procter & Gamble senior executive, Paul Lettice, as chairman.

Investors from Scotland, London and the US have backed the firm. They include Martin Mutch, Rob Dobson, Steve Endacott Richard Lewis and Keith Murdoch.

Eddie Robb, chief executive and founder of Make It Social, said: “Almost 90% of group ideas don’t end up in bookings being made – our technology makes the whole group bookings much more straightforward and that is what is getting us traction in the leisure, hospitality and travel markets in the UK and further afield.

“The trial with Scottish Rugby is interesting on a few levels, not least because we see big sporting events as a readymade market segment for the functionality we have developed.”

A number of trials are now under way which include large international leisure industries players. The company is looking ahead to the World Travel Market in London in November, the world’s largest travel conference.
